The Merrell Tsitsikamma MTB Race and Trail Run was established in 2012 and is a prominent event on the local MTB and trail running calendar. It is perfectly situated in Tsitsikamma to draw riders and runners from both the Eastern and Southern Cape.
This event offers mountain bikers and trail runners not only a test of skill, but also breath-taking views from rugged cliffs high above the Indian ocean and of the beautiful Tsitsikamma forest. This is a professionally organised event, not only for serious athletes, but also suited for weekend warriors and families looking for a day out together.

Please Note:
All participants under the age of 8 years are to be accompanied by an adult in both the Trail Run & MTB races.
Online entries close at midnight on Thursday 3 September 2026.
Late entries are available at registration for an additional fee of R100 each.
Age Categories per distance
Cycling SA enforces minimum age restrictions based on race distances for all sanctioned MTB events.
To avoid disappointment at registration, please only select a race distance that you are allowed to participate in.
Your age is based on the age you will be on 31 December of that year.
